Software Platform

The Wisense software platform consists of two web-based software applications namely the Dataview Remote Monitoring Platform and the Wireless Sensor Network Administration Console. Wisense’s DataView is a fully customisable Web-based monitoring platform that enables clients to monitor and control their remote assets in real time from anywhere in the world. The WSN Administration console is a very powerful tool that enables the system administrator to design, deploy,  modify the parameters and optimise the performance of the wireless sensor network in real-time from a remote location.

Dataview Remote Monitoring Platform

The platform facilitates data acquisition from a wide range of wireless sensors and provides a real-time display of their readings as information flows into the system. DataView supports the integration and display of real-time sensor data through dedicated display units, information kiosks and web applications.

DataView supports the integration of highly detailed interactive maps based on Google or user customised maps and their geographical references by means of GPS coordinates. This feature provides administrators of wireless sensor network deployments with virtually unlimited map display capabilities.

DataView enables users to display trend charts of multiple sensors across selectable time periods. Various options for embedded data analysis are available according to the application.

The platform enables users to export and download the data to databases, text files or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

The Notification and Alerts Wisense feature provides clients with capability to establish alert thresholds according to desired operation scenarios of sensors and to specify alert notification text messages and emails. Alerts may be sent to any email-enabled desktop computer or mobile phone. The user can also set up periodic information messages to report on the health and performance of the sensor network and the values of vital parameters.

Virtual parameters of the health and condition of each sensor can be viewed in real time through an interactive google map based application embedded in the system. The wireless sensor network administrator can visualise and inspect the condition of the WSNs deployed in differrent geographical areas.

Wireless Sensor Network Administration Console

The WSN administration Console enables the system administrator to efficiently design, deploy and manage customised to the customer needs sensor networks. The system allows easy integration of new sensor platforms from different vendors, expanding the applicability of Wisense Platform in many industries.

The system includes a large library of anlog and digital sensors which helps the administrator to add new sensors in the deployment by just using a pick and place procedure. The library, which includes all the technical information of each sensor, can be enhanced by adding new sensors.

The system enables the administrator to create custom sensor platforms and associate them to specific nodes within the network. Such sensor platforms can be easily be used in many deployments following a simple pick and play procedure.

The Wisense platform records the physical respond of each sensor in terms of millivolts (in case these sensors are analog). The WSN administrator through an interactive sensor calibration module can apply the relevant calibration to each sensor following a simple procedure. The calibration parameters can be easily updated without affecting the sensor recorded values. Even though the Wisense database stores the physical values of the sensors the DataView platform presents to the user the calibrated values.

The WSN administrator, through the console, is able to create different type of allerts and notifications (i.e sms, emails) and customise their format. These alerts and notifications can be then assigned to any sensor of the deployment.

The WSN administrator has full control of the client management module. The administrator can create groups of users for each deployment and assign privileges according to the status of each user.
